The local council has saved 30 bikes from going to a landfill as they are aiming to reduce the amount of waste that is sent there.
Instead the bikes were sent to the Glasgow based social enterprise the Bike Shed where they were either repaired to sell on to people in the community or broken up for spare parts.
The East Dunbartonshire Council has been praised for its recycling efforts and partnership with the Bike Shed by Zero Waste Scotland who are established by the Government to deliver recycling targets.
